Jodie & Gareth’s Wedding – May the 4th Be With You!

It’s not every day you photograph a wedding that opens with epic violin music, features Darth Vader, includes old school arcade machines, and ends with lightsaber battles under the stars. But that’s exactly what happened on Saturday 4th May for Jodie & Gareth’s incredible day at The Manor House, Alsager.

Surprise After Surprise

This was no ordinary wedding. I don’t think we’ve ever shot a day with so much organised mischief—most of which was a total surprise for Gareth. Hats off to Jodie, who somehow kept so many incredible details under wraps. Seriously, if wedding planning was an Olympic sport, she’d have the gold medal (and possibly a medal made of Lego).

The morning started calm and happy on both sides, with thoughtful gifts, lots of laughs, and a sense that something magical was about to happen. Guests arrived to the stunning sounds of Joanne Dodd – Cave Violinist, who absolutely nailed every note, including a custom version of This by Megan McKenna, which Jodie walked down the aisle to—a song full of meaning from her journey.

But just before Jodie appeared… cue Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers. Yep. They walked into the ceremony like they owned the place. Gareth’s face was priceless. There may or may not have been tears (happy ones!), and there were definitely a lot of selfies. Even we couldn’t resist getting one with the Empire. 📸

The Details Were Next-Level

The ceremony, led by the lovely Kirsty Hartley from Tales From The Registrar’s Desk, was heartfelt and personal. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Jodie & Gareth exchanged beautifully written vows.

We whisked the newlyweds away for some portraits around the Manor—including the stunning spa area out back (note to Nick: can we go there soon, please?). They were total naturals, and yes, Obi-Wan would be proud.

The reception took us to full party mode with: R-CADE Hire bringing in casino tables and retro games. The Added Extra delivering the sparkle with light-up letters and selfie mirrors, Debbie Marland of Ice Maiden Cakes creating a showstopper of a cake. A dance floor that stayed packed until the very last sparkler fizzled!

The night ended with lightsaber duels and sparklers—held mostly by those sober enough to aim them correctly—and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

In a Galaxy Not So Far Away…

Jodie & Gareth, your day was full of love, laughter, fandom, and fantastic friends and family. You pulled off something truly unique and unforgettable.

And remember: In marriage as in Star Wars, it’s all about balance—between the Force and fun, chaos and calm, and most importantly, each other.

May the 4th (and the years ahead) always be with you 💫 Love Helen & Nick xx
